You Mattered
Deep down, most of us want to know that we, in some way, made a difference in this world – that we mattered to someone, and that after we die, we will be finely remembered by those who knew and cared for us.
I read of a man who referred to the dates on a tombstone, from the beginning to the end.
He spoke “first came the birth,” and with tears spoke of the second, the death.
But he said what happened most was the dash “-” between those years.
That dash represents all the time spent alive on earth.
For it matters not how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash. What matters is how we spent the dash.
